I've been part of Minnesota Power's internal United Way campaign leadership team since 2015. As the communications member of the team I was tasked with creating a new campaign theme that would encourage employees to participate in United Way related events. I wanted to evoke a sense of playfulness and fun into the theme. I kept the color pallet bright and played off a midwest idiom—You Betcha! The campaign was a huge hit, with employees donating nearly $1 million to our local United Way chapter. The campaign was entered into UCI's 2017 Better Communications Competition and won 2nd Place in the category of Employee Communications.
